Our company was founded in 1972 and has been known as a manufacturer of measuring and monitoring devices for welding technology (resistance welding and arc welding) since 1980. Starting in 1986, we specialized in the development and manufacture of welding systems for non-ferrous metals, in particular for cable harnesses in the field of cable welding (splicing). Soon, our existing capacities were no longer sufficient. Therefore, we began to expand our development and production facilities with the construction of our main building in 1991.
In line with technological advances, we began to map automated processes on our machines in 1994. We expanded our capacities regarding the construction of customized machines in order to position ourselves as a provider of complete and system solutions from a single source. Since then, we have made a name for ourselves as an international manufacturer for customized machines with headquarters in Kirchen-Freusburg, Germany.
Our further Development
In 2009, we expanded the headquarters for our mechanical production by adding an attached hall. This was followed in 2010 by the founding of STRUNK Connect Inc. based in CT, USA. Two years later, we added a new floor to our main building, giving the engineering and project management departments a new home.
In the following years, we upgraded our machinery with more new milling centers and EDM machines and renewed our ERP system. The latter was connected to the PDM system, which is fed by CAD and EPLAN. The digitalization of work processes allows us to record time in the individual departments. Additionally, we have established an agile multi-project management system that facilitates the coordination, management and control of simultaneous projects and accelerates decision-making and management processes. Since 2013, we have also been offering prototyping for our customers, including the production of pilot series as well as A, B and C samples.
Where we are today
As our production had reached the limits of its capacity, we doubled our floor space in 2022 by adding a new production hall and an office building. Furthermore, we are currently developing a new complex control system that will use artificial intelligence (AI) to self-optimize and control the processes in our systems in real time.
